The falling ground water level in the Kalyan-Dombivli precinct has been a growing concern which now has surfaced up in the form of drying bore wells.

With the talks of a stringent regulation against extraction of water through bore well, a substantial effort is required from the Construction Industry practicing here in, to boost the rain water harvesting measures.

Beyond point – storm water feeding sources, it rather demands extensive permeable ground covers. Green pavers, permeable concrete & landscaped areas are few modes through which this can be achieved. Afforestation programmes and retention of existing trees shall provide huge impetus towards this motive.

While the corporation & the developers shall try their best at governing & development level, citizens need to ultimately control the water usage. It has been repeatedly observed that a number of societies have been wasting gallons of water through left-open taps, excessive utilization of water in cleaning and other such ignorance.

“Knowing how to spend resources requires an even more vigilant approach.”

The future of Kalyan-Dombivli truly rests in the hands of citizens whether to render it barren or to sustain it for the generations to come.
